How much is Botox in Canada?

What Botox costs by area
Botox is dosed in units, so the cost of a visit is the units used times the clinic's price per unit. These estimates use the labelled doses for BOTOX Cosmetic (and a common planning range for the off-label masseter) and the typical price range above. Your injector may use more or fewer units.

Clinics that charge by area instead quote ranges, for example $120 to $300 for frown lines. Many per-unit clinics set an appointment minimum of $85 to $150.
What changes the price of Botox
- Who injects and where. Credentials alone don't set the price: one of the lowest per-unit prices in our sample is at a clinic staffed by physicians and nurse practitioners. Experience, demand and the neighbourhood do more.
- The product. Dysport, Xeomin and Nuceiva are priced per unit too, usually the same as Botox or up to $3 less. Their units aren't interchangeable with Botox units, so compare the price of the treatment, not the unit.
- How many units you need. Stronger muscles take more units, which is why two people treating the same area can pay different amounts.
- Volume. A few clinics drop the per-unit price above a threshold, for example to $8 a unit above 80 units, or sell 100-unit packages for sweating.

Is Botox covered by provincial health insurance?
Cosmetic Botox isn't covered by provincial health plans. Some medical uses, such as migraine or excessive sweating, may be covered by private insurance or a provincial drug program with a prescription. Check with your plan.
