Pabau will quote you. We publish the number.

Pabau is a capable clinic system that arrives after a demo, a proposal and a configuration period. Zdrovia costs $0, $79 or $149, says so on the pricing page, and lets you chart a real patient this afternoon.

The short answer

Pabau is the better answer for some clinics. Read this before you move.

Stay with Pabau if

Pabau has been doing this for a long time and it shows in breadth. If you are buying marketing automation and reporting depth, it is a serious product and we are not pretending to match it feature for feature.

  • Campaign building and marketing automation are central to how you grow
  • You want a long list of canned reports rather than a few good ones
  • You have someone whose job includes configuring and maintaining the system

Move to Zdrovia if

Zdrovia is smaller, faster to start and built around the clinical record. Less to configure, because there is less to configure.

  • You want to see the price before you talk to anybody
  • You would rather be charting today than onboarding for a fortnight
  • Injectable lot traceability and structured charts are what you came for

Pabau prices by clinic size and module, so the figure that matters is the one in your own quote. Feature comparisons reflect each product's published positioning and change over time. Confirm with the vendor before deciding. Zdrovia pricing and features are also subject to change.

Run the numbers

Here is exactly what we cost. Hold your quote next to it.

We cannot print their number because it depends on the modules you take. We can print ours, because it does not depend on anything.

Zdrovia's card processing is all-in — 4% + 30¢ per transaction on Free, 3.5% on Pro ($79, three practitioners), 3% on Team ($149, ten practitioners) — no separate gateway charge underneath it. Pabau pricing is quoted per clinic, so compare against the proposal you were given; its own card processing (published around 2.9%–3.1% + a per-transaction fee) is charged separately and not included in your quote's headline number. All Zdrovia figures USD.

What you are trading

Fewer features, running by lunchtime

Pabau does more than we do. That is a straightforward thing to say and it is worth being clear about what it costs you in return.

Breadth has a setup bill attached

Every configurable system asks the same thing of a new clinic: decide how you work, then teach the software. That is reasonable when the software has to fit a hundred different clinic shapes, and it is why mature platforms open with a demo and an onboarding period rather than a signup form.

It is also why so many clinics run a system at a fraction of its capability. The modules were bought, the configuration was half finished, and eighteen months later nobody remembers what the reporting was supposed to do.

Zdrovia has fewer knobs. You sign up, add a service, and chart someone. Defaults are chosen for aesthetic clinics rather than left blank for you to decide, and you can change them once you have a reason to.

Where we spent the time instead

Charting is built from structured fields rather than text boxes. Units by site, Fitzpatrick type, device settings, pain scores and anything else you author yourself are stored as values, so they graph. A patient's progress across a treatment series is a chart you can turn around and show them.

Injectable inventory tracks lots, expiry, FEFO and quarantine, and each dispense ties a specific vial to a specific visit and invoice line. Recall traceability is the reason that exists, and expiry alerts are the reason it pays for itself.

The AI scribe listens to the appointment and writes into those structured fields instead of producing a paragraph. Dictating a note and populating your data become the same action, which is the only version of clinical AI we have found genuinely useful.

  • Structured, graphable fields instead of free text
  • Vial-level traceability from delivery box to patient chart
  • Versioned consent with a full audit trail
  • AI scribe included on every plan, with no separate line item

Published pricing is a feature

When a price depends on a conversation, comparing two products becomes a research project. You cannot work out whether you are being quoted well without talking to peers, and the answer changes by clinic.

Ours is on the pricing page and it does not move. Free with an all-in 4% card processing rate, $79 plus 3.5% for up to three practitioners, $149 plus 3% for up to ten across as many locations as you run. If the number in your Pabau proposal beats that for the parts you will use, you have your answer and it cost you five minutes.

Canadian clinics: patient data is stored in Canadian data centres, so PIPEDA is covered without hosting caveats. Zdrovia figures here are USD.

The Migration Process

Three steps and you're live. No IT team needed.

Export your data

Download a CSV or PDF export from your current EHR — Jane, Cliniko, or any other. No special format required, and our team helps you prep it for free.

< 15 minto export from any EHR

We handle the migration

Send us your export and our onboarding team handles the data import. Patient records, appointment history, and notes — all mapped cleanly into Zdrovia. It's free, and how long it takes depends on the size and complexity of your export.

24 hrstypical turnaround, standard export

Go live with your team

Once your data is in, we run a 30-minute live walkthrough with your team. Most clinics with a standard export are seeing live patients in Zdrovia within 48 hours of signing up.

Why does this page not show Pabau's prices?

Because we will not put numbers on a page unless we can point at where they came from. Pabau quotes by clinic size and by which modules you take, so the figure you were given is the only one that means anything. Put it next to the columns above and the comparison is real rather than approximate.

Is Pabau better than Zdrovia?

In two places, yes. Its marketing automation is deeper than ours and it ships more canned reports. If campaign building and reporting breadth are what you are buying software for, that is a fair reason to choose it. Where we are ahead is speed to get running, published pricing, injectable lot traceability and an AI scribe that is included rather than quoted.

How long until I can actually use it?

You can chart a real patient the same afternoon you sign up. There is no configuration project and no implementation call in between. That is partly a product decision and partly an admission: we are a smaller product with fewer knobs, and fewer knobs means less to set up.

What does the 4% on the free plan cover?

It's the all-in card processing rate — 4% + 30¢ per transaction, no separate gateway fee. Cash and e-transfer never touch it. Past roughly $15,800 a month in card bookings, Pro at $79 plus its lower 3.5% rate works out cheaper than staying on Free.

Can you handle before and after photos properly?

Photos attach to the chart with annotation and a before-and-after block that pairs them by date. They are encrypted at rest, and the consent covering their use is versioned separately from the clinical consent, because marketing use and treatment consent are different questions and should be recorded as such.

What does migrating from Pabau involve?

Export your patients, appointments and notes, and send the files to us. We do the mapping by hand rather than giving you an importer to fight with, which matters because exports from mature systems are rarely tidy. Free while we are in beta, and the timeline depends on the size of the export.
