Jane or Zdrovia
What clinics ask us before they move, answered straight.
Should I actually leave Jane?▾
If you bill insurers directly, no. Jane's Telus eClaims integration (part of its Insurance Billing add-on) works and ours does not exist, so for a physio, chiro or RMT clinic running claims daily, Jane is the better product and we would rather say so than waste your afternoon. If you are in medical aesthetics, the calculation is different and the rest of this page is about why.
Is the AI scribe comparison fair?▾
Check it yourself, because it is the strongest thing we have to say. Jane's AI Scribe is a per-practitioner add-on at CAD $15 a month, with 5 free notes a month on every plan before that. At ten practitioners that add-on alone comes to $150 a month, which is more than our entire Team Practice plan costs ($149) with the scribe included for all ten. At twenty it's $300 a month on Jane, against $299 for all of Zdrovia. Our free Solo plan doesn't include the scribe, so for one practitioner the honest comparison leaves it out on both sides.
What does a clinic with ten or more practitioners pay?▾
On Jane, every full-time practitioner past the first is CAD $35 a month on Practice ($40 on Thrive), and the AI scribe is another $15 each. On Zdrovia, Team Practice is $149 a month for up to 10 practitioners with the scribe included, then $15 for each one after that. Subscribe before the end of 2026 and the early-adopter rate of $89 is locked for your first 12 months. Card processing on Team Practice is 3% + 30¢ all-in. The larger the team, the wider the gap on subscription cost; once you add card processing the totals land closer, so run your own volume through the table above.
Is the free plan really unlimited?▾
Yes. Every Zdrovia plan, including the free one, has unlimited patients and unlimited appointments, with no monthly cap and no bump to a higher tier once you get busy. Jane's cheapest plan, Balance at CAD $59, is capped at 20 appointments a month, which suits a side practice but not a full caseload, so most full-time practitioners on Jane end up on Practice at CAD $79. That is a reasonable price for what Jane does. It just means the like-for-like comparison is $79 against our $0, not $59.
What does your scribe actually do?▾
It listens during the appointment, transcribes live, separates who said what, and writes into the structured fields on the chart rather than producing a paragraph. That distinction is the point. A dictated note in most systems is prose, and prose does not graph. Ours fills in pain scores, vitals, range of motion, units by site and any field you authored yourself, so dictating the note and capturing the data become one action.
What about injectables and inventory?▾
This is the clearest gap. Jane's product inventory handles retail stock counts. It does not carry lot numbers and expiry dates as first-class fields, which is what you need if you hold toxin and filler. Zdrovia receives stock by lot with expiry, dispenses oldest first, supports quarantine, and links every dispense to a visit and an invoice line.
How does Zdrovia's pricing compare over a year?▾
Include Jane's own processing fee and the total cost lands close at every size we've checked: sometimes in our favour, sometimes in theirs, depending on your volume and headcount. Where it stops being close is the record: Jane's scribe is a paragraph you paste in, ours writes into structured fields, and the inventory gap doesn't show up on an invoice at all until the day you actually need lot-level traceability.
How does switching from Jane work?▾
Export your patient, appointment and note data from Jane and send us the files. Our team does the mapping by hand rather than handing you an importer, which matters because real exports have inconsistent columns and half-finished records in them. Migration is free on Small Practice and Team Practice, and most clinics with a standard export are charting within a couple of days. Moving a whole team? Book a call and we'll plan the cut-over with you so nobody runs two systems for a month.
